Under the Disability Discrimination Act, it is now a legal requirement for commercial websites and those providing services to the public, to comply with the Priority 1 level of Website Accessibility Regulations (WCAG 1.0), set out by the Worldwide Web Consortium (W3C). These regulations cover issues including:

- The limitations of computer devices and how they interact with a site
- Making sure that information is conveyed so that it is available to everyone
